For the second collaboration project with Mr. Kitaka, we used yellow rudbeckia flowers as a motif to create a block print-like pattern. Block printing is an ancient technique that uses hand-carved woodblocks and is said to have originated in India. This time, we asked Mr. Kitakaka to express the hand-made print like block print. Mr. Ohkita, a designer, created the original picture. Mr. Ohkita entered this world after graduating from an art university, and is a veteran who has been involved in design production for over 40 years. Recently, it seems that more and more jobs are being done on a computer from the beginning. Using several types of Japanese calligraphy paper, he created a rough sketch while experimenting with ink bleeding and fluctuations. If possible, scan it and color it with a pen tablet. The design was finally completed while adjusting the feeling of misalignment and blurring, and this time it was expressed in a total of 8 prints. When I asked Mr. Ohkita what was the most difficult part of the design this time, he said, "The order was too detailed, so I had to start from scratch three times (laughs)." I'm so sorry. And finally, thanks so much. Thanks to you, I got a very nice print just like the image.
