A "singing bowl" is a traditional ritual implement from Tibetan esoteric Buddhism, which resonates overtone frequencies when the rim is rubbed in a circular motion with a mallet. While metal or glass bowls are common, this one is made of quartz and is called a "crystal bowl." It is often used in meditation and yoga, and is recommended when you want to relax. Playing it is very easy; just place the bowl on a desk or in the palm of your hand and rub the rim with the included mallet. As you rub it, a mysterious sound called an overtone will resonate.
