What is the “light” of the Eleven-Faced Kannon of Shorinji Temple? National Treasure Eleven-Faced Kannon Bosatsu enshrined at Shorin-ji Temple, an ancient temple in Sakurai, Yamato, Nara. The halo that once shone on its back was called “light,” and it is said that it was shaped with beautiful Hosogemon patterns unique to Tenpyo culture.
