[Interview with photographer: Maki Ando about new bookmarks] Many people think of my photos as “goldfish motifs”, but I have a habit of carrying a small film camera when I go out, regardless of the genre. I take pictures every day. When I shoot goldfish, I am nervous because I want to capture the moment when the body looks beautiful, but when I take pictures with a film camera, I take it in a rough manner.
I have a strong desire to "use" my photos, and I wanted to try to see if they would accept my new work, "photographs that are the exact opposite of goldfish." The title of the goldfish bookmark was "Swimming in the world of books", but this time, the seagull is "Flying in the sky of words" and the ship is "Crossing the sea of words". I created this bookmark with the hope that the person who picks up this bookmark will enjoy reading the book even more.
