Made of 100% cotton, it is smooth and comfortable. The warp threads are organic cotton, and the fabric is flat and pile-free. This scarf can also be used to wipe away sweat. It can also be wrapped loosely around a simple T-shirt for a stylish look. It is about 160cm long, which is a little long and easy to wrap around.
The warp threads are organic cotton and the fabric is flat woven with no pile.
From the left, green, pink, yellow, red, and blue. The stripes come in two thicknesses. A great design that never gets old.
Machine washable. You can wash it as much as you like. You can't wipe away sweat with a scarf, but this is OK. Comfortable. The more you wash it, the more it softens and develops a rich look. Take it with you wherever you go, and you'll grow to love it even more.
Just wrap it loosely over a simple white shirt or T-shirt for a great look.
It comes in a cute package, so it can be given as a gift.
Here's a close-up of the material. The fringe is cute too.
[LOVE Local LOVE Story] In Imabari, Ehime Prefecture, a sacred place for producing towels, there are over 100 factories that twist, dye, and weave yarn. Imabari, which has been responsible for producing towels for 100 years, has prospered as a production center for white cotton and a cotton textile industry since the Edo period. "Miyazaki Towel" is a long-established towel manufacturer in Imabari that has been in business for over 120 years. Already in 1990, we were a challenger and started producing towels using organic cotton.
[Learning from the past to create new things. From collar wraps to "towel scarves."] In the 1990s, the previous president of "Miyazaki Towel" was searching for new designs for towels when he discovered documents that showed "imported towels" from the Meiji period (when Japan still only had tenugui). Records showed that they were highly valued as collar wraps at the time due to their soft texture. Inspired by this, learning from the past to create new things, and based on the concept of "wrap it around your neck and walk," the "Imabari scarf," which is light and easy to use, was born using new technology cultivated by the long-established towel manufacturer.
[Social Good! ... Things and actions that have a positive impact on the global environment and society] Of course, using organic cotton is wonderful, but ... Speaking of Shikoku, it's the pilgrims. In each region, the culture of "hospitality" where local people offer tea and sweets is deeply rooted ... The previous owner of "Miyazaki Towel" would hand out "Imabari scarves" to pilgrims as a form of hospitality so that they could walk comfortably on their way. LOVE Local, LOVE Cuiture, LOVE Story ... It would be wonderful if we could all love our hometowns, local industries, and the stories behind the things. In Imabari, the birthplace and holy land of towels. The "Imabari scarf" has a truly lovable "story behind the thing". How nice. Social Good in every way!
