Humidifiers are very useful in the dry season, but it would be a problem if the humidifier is covered with germs. Introducing the "iodine disinfectant" that is useful at times like that!
The power of iodine, which has long been used as antiseptic iodine tincture and Lugol's solution to relieve sore throat, suppresses odor and slime caused by bacteria.
I know that humidifiers need to be kept clean, but the opening of the water tank is so small that it's a bit difficult to clean inside. In such a case, just put this "iodine disinfectant" in the orange bag in the tank. After that, you can fill the tank with water while keeping the "iodine disinfectant" in it. The sterilization effect is about 1 month.
I used an evaporative humidifier. It can be used with both evaporative and ultrasonic humidifiers (it cannot be used with humidifiers that heat the tank as it is). Open the package and pop it into the water supply tank of the humidifier before adding water. Add water as usual. It didn't absorb the water right away, but the next morning, the iodine started to dissolve, turning the water in the tank a light orange color.
When you turn on the humidifier and bring your face closer, you can smell the faint disinfectant scent. I can hardly feel it when I leave, so I feel that this faint scent is definitely sterilizing.

If your home humidifier is an ultrasonic humidifier that does not use heat, why not consider this instead of cleaning frequently to prevent germs?
