The popular Shigaraki ware Kiritate plate is now available in a small size that is easy to use as a dessert plate or serving plate. The contrast between the ice-like expression created by the transparency and penetration of the glass glaze and the deep scarlet color is attractive. The rim has a rise, so I'm happy that the stuff I put on it doesn't spill out.

*The inner glaze is a type of glass glaze that can penetrate. Penetration increases with use, but it is not a crack in the fabric itself.
