Tenugui are hardworking cloths that can be used to lay, wipe, or hang. With tenugui, you can use them to dry dishes, hang baskets, and make your kitchen or table more enjoyable. They can also be used as handkerchiefs or to wrap gifts and give them as is. Tenugui have long been loved as fabrics for daily life, but "salvia", run by Seki Yurio, has created a gentle "wa-tairou" tenugui. In a desire to make tenugui from cloth that retains the beauty of cotton, they are made from cotton fabric woven with brown cotton from Fukushima. They are not bleached to preserve the texture of the cotton, so you can enjoy its natural off-white color... hence the name "wa-tairou". Wonderful!
