A lineage of beautiful images woven with thread.

Kasamori is an embroidery studio located in Kiryu City, Gunma Prefecture, that has been in business for 146 years. Currently, they sell accessories using jeweled threads under the brand name 000/Triple Ou nationwide.

Embroidery is normally stitched on a flat surface, but Kasamori uses their own techniques to create a three-dimensional embroidery. Instead of winding the thread around a core, they wind only the thread to create a sphere. If the needle position is off by even a few tenths of a millimeter, the resulting shape will not be round, so the craftsman stays glued to the sewing machine. The thread jewels are created through meticulous programming, human hands and eyes.

"One of the attractions of thread as a material is its color," says Yoichi Katakura, the product designer who oversees the brand. By dyeing thread, an infinite number of colors can be produced, which is an attraction that metals and pearls do not have. This time, we have a special necklace available as a model to commemorate the 20th anniversary of Japanese Craftsmen Project.

The main feature is the large, beautiful sapphire blue beads. This special model lavishly uses large beads, which are difficult to produce reliably. The voluminous large beads look great around the neck, and the elegant luster of the cupra thread is also a highlight. The light blue small beads are connected with gold lame thread for an accent. Just adding this to a simple outfit will instantly brighten up your look.

Although this necklace has such a strong presence, it is also surprisingly light, thanks to the thread. It is so light that you will forget you are wearing it, so even those who don't usually wear much jewelry can enjoy it casually.
