We have distributed “Happy Toys” to children in Rwamwanja Refugee Settlement. Due to the restriction imposed by the Uganda government under the COVID-19 outbreak, children in Uganda cannot go out freely, and schools and Child Friendly Spaces (CFSs) we support are still closed. To maintain children’s psychosocial conditions, we reached out to 3 – 6 years children in the refugee settlement to provide home based Psychosocial Support (PSS). As the important part of our assistance, “Happy Toys” were distributed to these children.
The children who received “Happy Toys” were very happy and excited to tell us that they now had a reason to stay home and play even under the restriction caused by COVID-19. They said thank you so much for the gift from the Japanese people.
