"Rice Resin" is a domestically produced biomass plastic made from rice. It is made by upcycling rice that would otherwise be discarded, such as old rice that is not suitable for consumption or broken rice generated by rice cracker manufacturers, into plastic using new technology.

[Social Good! ... things and activities that have a positive impact on the global environment and society] Howari is made by a manufacturer in Niigata, a rice-producing region. And currently, the rice used as raw material is mainly grown in Niigata. This may be a new form of "local production for local consumption". A fun and new eco-friendly material, "rice resin". 30% rice content... technology is amazing. If more products using "rice resin" are made in the future, we can utilize discarded rice from all over Japan, and if the raw rice is grown in fallow fields (you don't have to pursue the taste), it may lead to the effective use and conservation of domestic farmland... I would like to keep an eye on "rice resin" which is likely to evolve more and more from now on.
