Soft and fluffy without elastic. Fun combinations with leftover yarn.

Fluffy Socks were born when the desire of "salvia", a brand run by Seki Yurio, to make socks that feel like bare feet met with a sock craftsman who loves making socks. They are made at the "Socks Workshop" in Gosen, Niigata. There is no elastic at the opening, and the socks are knitted slowly in the traditional way, so they are comfortable to wear without feeling tight. They are made with ultra-fine yarn, knitted large, and then pressed to shrink. The generous amount of yarn supports each other, making them difficult to slip down even without elastic. Not only is the manufacturing method gentle and unique, but the color scheme is also unique! As Salvia makes various socks, the "leftover yarn" of various colors gradually piles up in a corner of the factory. Fluffy Socks are made using the yarn that is left over at the time, little by little, to make socks with color combinations that can only be made at that time. <FLUKE> means "unexpected happiness". フェリシモの雑貨Kraso［クラソ］|サルビアゴムなしでやさしいはき心地ふんわりくつした〈FLUKE〉|「サルビア」は、長い時をかけて人から人へ受け継がれてきた大切なものに思いを寄せて、日本各地の志高い作り手さんたちと共に歩んでいます。セキユリヲさんのデザインや考え方と、伝統工芸や地場産業など作り手さんたちのこだわりの技術を生かしたものづくりによって生まれたものは、日々の暮らしにやさしくあたたかな彩りをくれますね。この「ふんわりくつした」は、新潟にある「くつした工房」の職人さんが、かつて入院されていたご両親の足がむくんでいたのを見て、しめつけ感のないやわらかな靴下を作りたいと思い誕生した製法にセキユリヲさんが出合ったことによって生まれたそうです。かわいいだけじゃない、本当にやさしい靴下なのでした。

The socks come wrapped in a paper band with instructions on how to make and care for them.

The reason why they are comfortable to wear without feeling too tight is not only because there is no elastic at the opening, but also because they are knitted using ``old-fashioned slow knitting'', taking time and effort to carefully knit them!

[Salvia] Gentle, soft and warm. Salvia, run by popular designer Seki Yurio, began making products in 2000 that fit the lifestyles of clothing, food and shelter. Seki Yurio himself moved to Higashikawa, Hokkaido in 2021, where he creates products that are comfortable for both the mind and body in the rich natural surroundings of Mount Daisetsu.

Salvia works with ambitious makers from all over Japan, paying tribute to the precious things that have been passed down from person to person over the ages. Products born from Seki Yurio's designs and ideas, and the manufacturing techniques of makers of traditional crafts and local industries, add a gentle and warm touch to everyday life. These "Fluffy Socks" were born when Seki Yurio encountered a manufacturing method created by a craftsman at the "Socks Workshop" in Niigata, who had seen his parents' swollen feet while they were hospitalized, and wanted to make soft socks that didn't feel too tight. They're not just cute, they're also really gentle socks.
